Why this guide? — Quick orientation for first-time sign-ins

Signing in to an exchange is the gateway to all actions — checking balances, making deposits, buying crypto, or withdrawing funds. This guide assumes you’ve already registered an account. If you haven’t, start with Sign Up. Otherwise, read on: we’ll cover the login flow, securing your account, funding, trading basics, troubleshooting, and best practices that protect your assets and data.

Step 1 — The login flow

Open the portal and click Log In. Use the email address you registered and your password. If you have multi-factor authentication enabled (strongly recommended), approve the second factor in your authenticator app or via SMS (if enabled). If you use a hardware security key, follow the browser prompts to plug in and verify. If anything looks unfamiliar during sign-in — a prompt you didn't request, an unexpected email, or a device you don't recognize — pause and visit Security or contact Support before proceeding.

Step 2 — Lost password or lost device?

If you forget your password, or you lost access to your second-factor device, start the secure recovery flow at Account Recovery. We’ll ask you to confirm identity details and may request additional verification for accounts with higher balances. Never share your password or verification codes in chat or email — Netcoins staff will never ask for them.

Step 3 — Funding your account

Once signed in, go to the Funding section to link a bank account or view crypto deposit addresses. Bank transfers typically use ACH or local rails — processing times and limits vary by region. If you’re transferring cryptocurrency from an external wallet, copy the deposit address carefully and confirm the network. Incorrect networks or addresses can result in irreversible loss.

Step 4 — Making your first trade

Navigate to the trading tab after your deposit is confirmed. Choose the asset and amount you want to buy. The platform will show a price preview and associated fee (see Fees). Confirm the trade if you’re happy with the price. For new users, consider starting with a small test buy to verify the full flow — deposit, trade, and withdraw — before moving larger sums.

Security fundamentals — what you should enable now

Protecting your account is easy if you follow a few principles: enable multi-factor authentication (authenticator app preferred over SMS), use a unique password stored in a password manager, and register a backup second-factor method (like a second phone or a security key). Review active sessions and devices periodically and revoke access to any device you don't recognize. For full details about recommended configuration, read Security.

Understanding fees, limits, and verification tiers

Netcoins applies fees for trades and may have deposit or withdrawal fees depending on the rail. You can view per-asset fees and limits on the Fees page. Higher verification tiers typically unlock larger deposit and withdrawal limits and may require identity documents (photo ID, proof of residence). We follow KYC/AML practices to comply with regulations — this protects you and the platform from fraudulent use.

Troubleshooting common login problems

If you can’t sign in, first verify you’re on the official site and not a phishing page. Use the bookmarked Log In link to avoid typosquatting. If your password fails, initiate Account Recovery. If two-factor codes are rejected, check your authenticator app’s time-sync settings or use your backup codes. Browser extensions can sometimes interfere with sign-in flows — try a private/incognito window or a different browser. When in doubt, contact Support.

How to keep small mistakes from becoming big problems

Always verify addresses before withdrawing crypto. Use withdrawal whitelists if available — this restricts withdrawals to known addresses. Enable email alerts for logins and large withdrawals. If you receive an unexpected email claiming to be from Netcoins about your account, don’t click links; instead, open your account through the bookmarked Log In page and check the notification center.

Managing recovery and long-term access

Keep your recovery email up-to-date in account settings and store backup codes securely. If you plan long-term custody or are managing funds for others, consider multi-signature solutions or institutional custody alternatives. For personal accounts, the combination of a password manager, MFA, and secure backups of recovery codes is a robust baseline.
